Tracey Thorn
Its all true [Virgin]

Ewan Pearson is apparently on production duties here alongside Finnish head honcho of Mood Music’s Sasse and Darshan from Metro Area. That sort of electronic dream team is probably the reason why the original is a delicious slice of quirky electro pop, with one eye on the radio and another foot on the dancefloor, creating what should be the sound of daytime airplay.

Remix wise Martin Buttrich lays further claim to his underground hero status with by offering a more melancholic cut which loses the disco vibe of the original yet retaining its melodious elements, whilst Kris Menace goes for the jugular with a discofied take sure to find favour on the more commercially focused of djs. But the real winner on all of this is just remembering how amazing Thorn’s voice is for whistful house music, still great for setting a sense of mournful longing on the dancefloor.
