Tommy is flying solo on Brique Rouge following his cheeky ‘Chocolate Makes Your Clothes Shrink’ collaboration with Alex Parsons. A similar formula is followed on both the title track and the slightly more laidback A-Side ‘Dancing In The Zoo’; quirky vocoders and electro bleeps. Both stand up musically, but I wouldn’t relish listening to a full set of similar tracks.

‘Banana’ is by far the best cut on the EP, the shuffling beats give it a more housey feel than the others, and the pulsing analogue bassline drives the track along with some momentum. Again it’s left to bleeps to add some semblance of musicality, but this 2020 Vision style electronic house cut works well on the floor.
